Zara Pybus

Zara has spent most of her life in the UK, but lived in both Mexico and South Africa as a child. She obtained her BA degree in Social Anthropology/Politics and Government from the University of Kent in July 2001. In her degree she specialised in areas such as human rights and development.

Zara gained her administrative experience through working at Imperial College London (Wye campus) and The Institute of Financial Services (an educational charity). After graduation, she travelled for nine months in India and South-East Asia, before moving to London and starting work at SOAS in November 2002.

As the Administrator for the Endangered Languages Academic Programme, her main responsibilities include: dealing with student/public enquiries, producing materials such as the course handbook, web-editing, minuting meetings, and providing administrative support to the Director. Since starting at SOAS, she has completed courses in Project Management and Administration of Meetings, as well as several IT training courses. She started a part-time Masters Degree in Development Studies in September 2003.
