Bantu Linguistics

The course provides an introduction to and overview of Bantu languages and linguistics. The first four days have the topics: phonology and reconstruction; noun classes and agreement; verb inflection and TAM; derivation and valency. On the fifth day we shall study a short text in — language to be chosen (Swahili, Nyamwezi, UMbundu, CiLuba?).
