Language documentation and linguistic theory

This lecture will consider some ways in which documenting and describing language can interact with and inform linguistic theory, and also what concepts from linguistic theory might be useful in the process of data collection and analysis. The lecture will focus on grammatical analysis, with evidence drawn from the domains of morphology and syntax.
