Venue

The summer school will be held at the School of Oriental and African Studies located in Bloomsbury close to the British Museum and British Library.

The SOAS main building (also known as College Buildings) is located on Thornhaugh Street, at the north-east corner of Russell Square. The map below shows the location of the Russell Square Campus in relation to tube and rail stations, major roads and Dinwiddy House, the accommodation for summer school participants.

The nearest tube stations are Russell Square (Piccadilly line), Tottenham Court Road (Northern and Central lines), Goodge Street (Northern line), Warren Street, Euston (Northern and Victoria lines) and Euston Square (Hammersmith and City, Circle and Metropolitan lines). Mainline stations Euston and Kings Cross are also about 10-15 minutes walk away.


How to find the rooms at SOAS

All summer school activities will be based in the SOAS main building.

Registration for the summer school will take place on Sunday 21st June, between 3pm-5pm in room 4418 on the fourth floor of the main SOAS building in Russell Square.

Lecture locations:

  • Khalili Lecture Theatre (KLT) is on the lower ground floor.
  • G50, G51 and G52 are on the ground floor towards the rear of the building.
  • Senior Common Room (SCR) is on the first floor, situated to the left of the main stairwell.
  • R201 is on the second floor, situated on the landing opposite the main stairwell.
  • 4418 and 4421 are on the fourth floor, situated to the left of the main stairwell.
