Doing fieldwork in an Algerian oasis
with Lameen Souag
Tues 23 Feb, 10am-11am, 4421
With their strong ethos of hospitality, conservative piety, and
ambivalence towards their own languages, Saharan oases pose rather
different issues for the fieldworker than the stereotypes familiar
from Australia or the Amazon. This talk will discuss the
practicalities of fieldwork in the region.
